A way of dancing life

Biodanza is a system created by the Chilean psychologist Rolando Toro that brings together music, movement and group encounter. There are no steps to learn and no choreography. Each exercise is an invitation to feel your body, joy and connection with others, at your own pace.

On Fridays, the working week stays at the door. For two hours we dance alone, in pairs and in a circle, to music chosen for each moment of the class.

The five lines of vivência

Every class is built around five dimensions of life that Biodanza seeks to awaken.

  • Vitality

Energy, joy and the drive to act.

  • Sexuality

Pleasure in movement and in your own body.

  • Creativity

Expression and the wish to create.

  • Affectivity

Bonds, empathy and care for others.

  • Transcendence

Feeling part of nature and of something larger.

What a class is like

We start sitting in a circle, with a short moment for anyone who wants to share how they arrived. Then we dance: first to music that wakes up energy, later with calmer moments of encounter, and at the end we slowly return to the pace of everyday life.

Nobody has to do anything. Every exercise is an invitation, and you can always just watch.

Classes take place at Clube Alto do Duque, in Restelo, near Algés. The hall is large, has a wooden floor and is surrounded by trees, which helps leave the city outside.

We suggest coming in via Rua do Alto do Duque.

Your facilitators

We are Inês Moreira and Miguel Moura, Biodanza SRT facilitators in supervision, trained at the Escola de Biodanza SRT de Lisboa. Inês has practised since 2017 and Miguel since 2019, and it was Biodanza that brought us together.

Every week we prepare the class with the group in mind, following the theoretical model of Biodanza.

Aconselho vivamente a experimentarem.
